This orientation has been designed to help prepare you to teach, using digital tools, in any type of course modality offered at Bay Path [On Ground, Hybrid or Online]. In this self-paced course you will explore the Canvas learning management system, strategies for teaching online and external digital tools that may find useful as you prepare your course for any environment in which you are teaching.

By actively participating in this course you will be able to:

Explain the University’s policies and procedures as they relate to online and hybrid learning
Apply and integrate online and digital pedagogies with existing teaching style to develop and deliver a successful online, hybrid or digitally enhanced course.
Adapt a course or content for online delivery in the learning management system with specific focus on student-centered teaching
Complete a Culminating Activity for your course using one of the recommended digital tools linked in the description.

To help you track your progress through all of the planned activities we have created a course checklist that you can download and update as you progress. The checklist includes all of the assignments, discussion forums and surveys required for the course organized sequentially by modules.

For the next 4 weeks you have been assigned a facilitator who will monitor your progress and offer assistance but you can revisit this course as often as you like to update your skills. Upon completion you will be awarded a certificate that will allow you to teach an online or hybrid class at Bay Path University.

Canvas uses a responsive design, allowing content to appear consistent across a variety of screens sizes on smartphones, tablets and computers. We encourage users to participate in this course via Google Chrome on macOS, iOS, Windows and Android. The Center for Online & Digital Learning does not fully recommend using the Canvas App due to limited functionality.
